Photo therapy

08.04.11 I promised myself I’d stop making excuses for the long breaks between posts and just get on with it & shoot but I always feel a need to explain myself. Things have been a bit nuts these days & sometimes images I really enjoyed shooting gets lost in the mix.

I’ve gotten myself a new job that I really enjoy but has no stable schedule, so heading out and shooting is a bit challenging these days. I was also given notice that I have a few weeks to find a new home. So I’m in between packing while not knowing where I’m headed.

But as always, looking through that viewfinder puts my mind at ease and reminds me that sometimes we need to slow down, breathe & find beauty in the details. So I’ve been shooting w/ only my prime lenses nowadays. Which I gotta say is way more educational when training your eye to see “interesting-like.” It also forces you to think out-of-the-box when trying to produce images. Don’t get me wrong, I may be getting busier (and older) but I still love trucking the 30D with me and crawling on the ground or climbing on things to get my photo. Getting my images from camera to computer just takes me a bit longer these days. So here are some of my favorites that have been like mosquitos buzzing in my ear while they sat dorment on my computer as RAW files.

  1. That’s a fantastic fireworks shot at the end! Also like your image of the coastal landscape being filmed/painted. Good stuff!
