TOMS Shoes at Whole Foods Market Kahala

12.16.11 Those who know me (and even those who don’t) know that my camera is pretty much attached to me at all times. My lil’ 30D & a 50mm have been through hell and back. And now my new friend, my Sigma 30mm now joins in on the fun. I’ve always tried to incorporate my my love of photography into all I do. I’ve even managed to squeeze it into my day jobs over the years. My job at Whole Foods Market is no different.
A very cool event happened earlier this month at my place of work. Whole Foods Market put on an event called Style Your Sole in conjunction with TOMS shoes. For those of you who don’t know TOMS shoes mission is that “For every pair of shoes sold, TOMS will donate a pair of shoes to a child in need as part of the company’s One for One campaign.”
But the kicker for this event is that we invited some pretty amazing local artists to draw on every pair of shoes sold throughout the day for no extra charge. You could ask the artists for something specific or you could let them just create something custom for you.
I’ve seen a lot of these artist’s work over the years in random places throughout the island. Even the dude who draws those Local XMas cards you know you’ve bought at some point at Longs, was there. That probably tripped me out the most.
Well because of the crazy high demand at this last event we’re doing it again on Dec. 17th. So stop on by Whole Foods Market at Kahala Mall; 9am-2pm.
